Programme of subsidies to metropolitan local councils to contribute to the implementation of the Transparency Law
The implementation of the transparency and good governance legislation poses numerous organisational and instrumental challenges that require institutional commitment, inter-administrative coordination and investment of resources. To help promote the administrative changes posed by this challenge at the local level, since 2016, the AMB has established several lines of subsidies aimed at metropolitan local councils to finance transparency and good governance projects that respond to the specific needs and priorities of each local government, in accordance with their autonomy.
The Transparency Agency is responsible for the implementation of these support actions, first through a pilot programme of direct subsidies and subsequently with biannual calls for applications for subsidies for all the local councils in the metropolitan area.
